I have curiosity to see how many people have read this book and his views on the novel. I, for example, I love this story. It is one of my absolute favorite novels and I love the way Acima conveys emotions with such complexity. I'd love to hear opinions, and if you have not read this book, I suggest you do.

What writing genres Conrad Aiken ow / e?
im doing a report on Conrad Aiken but I do not know their genders are wat?
You simply click on one of my favorite authors. Aiken wrote many short stories, often located in the Old West or at the border as it was in colonial times and early years of the United States. I'd say its kind of historical fiction. He wrote a series of novels like The Awakening Land trilogy, composed of trees, fields, and the city, which follows the life of a woman named Sayward Luckett (later Wheeler, who was home at the end of the first novel) as he became the state of Ohio since his arrival there with his parents, sisters and brother in the 1790s until his death during the American Civil War. In the 1970s these books were the basis of a miniseries called The Awakening Land, starring Elizabeth Montgomery and Hal Holbrook. Two of his other novels address the plight of children who were kidnapped during the French and Indian War, raised by Indians, then essentially forced to return to their biological families in terms of peace treaty. Light in the forest (which was filmed by Walt Disney in the 1950s) is the story of a young man who is simply unable to adapt to the ways of his family from settlers and finally, back to life he met with the Native Americans. A foreign country deals with a young woman who, like his counterpart in the Light in the Forest, was back into English and is unable to adapt. In the first novel, the child was returned to his mother and father, but she was returned to an aunt, and all his family had been destroyed during the conflict. Like the protagonist of the Light in the Forest, ultimately, she struck out to resume life she knows best. The last two novels deal extensively with issues of where, or that real family is a reality – a kind of examination of the nature versus nurture. Hope this helps. Good luck on your report!
